A good cause

Today at church, Rusty (our head pastor) did a sermon about our partner church in Buloba, Uganda.  A couple of weeks ago, some members of our congregation were able to go to Buloba and help build the church and set up rain catchers.  But one main point that he focused on was how both of our churches are involved with Africa Renewal Ministries.  ARM is a ministry where people can sponsor a child for $35 a month.  With this sponsorship, a child gets to go to school, they get a school uniform, and 1 meal a day.  The program focuses strongly around God and the kid's education.  With over 20 current projects, Africa Renewal Ministries is making a difference in the lives of thousands every day.

LSWHO??!!??

What a FANTASTIC weekend; we are #1 in the BCS polls!

Growing up, I was never a fan of LSU.  This could have been because my dad told me that I was allowed to apply to any school in the nation except LSU, so naturally I have wanted to beat them since freshman year.  Well, with really upsetting losses in 07 and 08 and then just LSU whooping last year, it was about time that we beat them.  But now, we have to deal with the pressure of being #1.  Ever since Alabama lost, there has been this curse over the number 1 team; week 7 Ohio State, week 8 Oklahoma and now week 9 Auburn.  What makes this curse even worse is that Ohio State and Oklahoma lost while on the road....next week, Auburn is on the road at Ole Miss.  My theory is that Alabama secretly knew that we were going to be better than them so they tried to put this curse on us.  Well, they are going to fail because we are Auburn and we are All In!  War Eagle!

New England in the Fall

Ya I know I haven't written in a while, life is just been super busy lately between tests, work, teaching and travel....yes travel.  This past weekend I was so fortunate enough to go visit one of my best friends at Dartmouth.  He has played football there since our freshman year and my parents and I finally got a chance to go watch him play.  Let me tell ya, this was one AWESOME trip and we had a blast!

We flew into Boston Thursday, my parents had time to see some of the city while I didn't get in until midnight.  Anywho, Friday we woke up early and then set off to tootle around the city.  First we walked the freedom trail, which was so cool because I am in an American Revolution class right now and we literally just took a test over everything that we saw and then we drove out to see Harvard.  After eating lunch in Cambridge we headed on up to New Hampshire, where Dartmouth is.  One cool thing was, we ended up staying in Vermont which was right across the river from Hanover, New Hampshire, so we ended up seeing 3 new states in one weekend.  Now, I could write about everything that happened this past weekend, but that would be very boring and take forever to type, so I will just tell you the rest of my story through pictures.

Boston, Mass
 Harvard College

Dartmouth College-Hanover, New Hampshire
Game Day-Dartmouth vs. Yale (stadium was the size of my high school stadium)

Go Will #67

Concord, Mass.

so anyway, that about sums it up- We had a blast and saw a lot. OH....Did I mention that Alabama lost to South Carolina and Auburn beat KY!

War Eagle!
