Before I start, I will say that Lufthansa is one of my new favorite airlines. The flight attendants were not only SO nice, they were also young women about my age and all BEAUTIFUL! (whatever these Germans are drinking, I'll have some)
Picture this....a large 747 Lufthansa flight heading to Frankfurt, Germany. Us low level folk herding to the the back of the plane like the 3rd class passengers on the Titanic, passing the spacious and super comfortable business class (of course the first class haughty taughty are up top where we can't even see their luxury). I crawled into my window seat (this saved my life) and it is the second row of the back section. So of course, there are 4 families all along the first row with 1 young child each (prayer begins). We begin to take off and a symphony of screams and cries wail out of the children's mouths.
OH LORD
5 hours into the flight and at least 1 baby has to cry at all times. If one stops, then another one has to start. (At least ALL beverages were free, including wine, beer and liquor) After eating a quite surprisingly decent meal, I took my Advil PM (or 2) with the last sip of my free wine and slept like a baby the remaining 4 hours of the flight.
Upon arrival in Frankfurt, I found some coffee and breakfast (since I slept right through it) and we wandered back to the gate. There, I found the rest of my crew either talking or sleeping. I decided that sleeping looked cozy, so I decided to make my own bed and sleep for another 1 or so (pics will come, internet is slow).
We board another plane and head on down to Doha, Qatar (another 5 hour flight), but this time barely anyone was on the plane and there was not one screaming kid. Well, guess who lucked out..ME..I had an isle seat in the middle and not a single person sat in between me and the other isle person (who is on the trip with me). He told me that if I wanted too, I could stretch out across the seats and lay down, so I did, and got another hour of sleep or so.
We landed in Qatar to drop some passengers off and then we began the 20 min. hop on over to Bahrain (we are down to literally no one but our group and a few businessmen on this flight). By the time we get our visas, our luggage, load the bus and actually get to the hotel, it's midnight. But, our hotel is SO beautiful that we are no longer tired, we just want to explore. So explore we did and now it's 2:00am and I can't sleep (I was told to sleep as much as I could while travelling, and now it's bitting me in the butt). LONG day tomorrow I guess.
OH WELL, tune in for more updates and pics (if the internet will speed up)
